Bingalela is a bit far from the Drakensberg action, but if you don't mind a trek to your accommodation it offers affordable and comfortable rooms. Attractive double and family-size rondavels are set in dusty, slightly car-park-like surrounds, under lovely eucalypts. Note that it holds its own beerfest in October, so the action might not be for everyone.
