Bradt Travel Guides has been publishing pioneering guidebooks for over 40 years, and is the largest wholly independent guidebook publisher in both the UK and US.  We currently have a list of some 200 titles, nearly two-thirds of which have no direct competition from other guidebook publishers. Our coverage of Africa is matched by no other publisher, with nearly 30 single-destination guides for Africa and four on the Indian Ocean Islands. Uganda, Ghana, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Namibia and Zambia are all several editions old and firmly established among our bestsellers, while we have recently added the first standalone guides in English to Senegal, Equatorial Guinea and the Ivory Coast. Many of our authors have become authorities on the countries they cover: Hilary Bradt, Philip Briggs and Chris McIntyre are all acknowledged experts in their field. Authors are selected for their thorough research and ability to bring the country they describe alive for the reader.
