
The Blue Train Park has been in operation for more than 60 years. The property is approx 10,000m2, less than 25m from the Atlantic Ocean with a backdrop of Lions head, Signal Hill and Table Mountain. Now an iconic feature to Cape Town’s beautiful seaside landscape, this park with its miniature blue train captures the youthful fantasies of both young and old.Besides our famous “Old Lady” Mini Blue Train, the park also has a Mini-Skate park including a 6m half pipe, dirt bike track, cement push bike track, Pedal Push Carts, a 30m zip-line, 2x 8m long slide, see-saws, climbing rock, two Jungle gyms, obstacle course, an astro turf soccer pitch and a bunch of other wonderful play features. 10,000m2 of outdoor seafront front play area for kids to run wild. There is also a small kiosk offering a selection of ice creams, chips, cold drinks, sweets & other yummy treats. Did you know…The Blue Train officially started its journey some 62 years ago on 19December 1956. Johnny Peters was the first train driver & operated thetrain for some 30 years, eventually retiring in 1987.The Blue Train is the only beachfront miniature railway that has survived in South Africa and which is still running.
